Frequently Asked Questions

We have put together a list of questions we are most frequently asked if you don't find your question answered on this page, please contact us.

Can my loved one be collected from home?

Due to a local doctor needing to complete cremation paperwork your loved one needs to be collected by a local funeral director for this to be facilitated. You can either arrange this yourself or call us and we can organise this for you.

What happens if the Coroner is involved?

If the coroner has or is involved in your loved one's death this isn’t a problem. We will liaise with the coroner and bring your loved one into our care as soon as is permitted.

Please contact us before the coroner has completed all they are doing if you can so that we can get necessary in motion.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole of England & Wales.

When do I pay?

As the cost of the arrangement is fixed, we will issue you an invoice prior to the cremation of your loved one. JustCremations operates on the basis of full payment prior to cremation. All of our fees must be received in full. We accept all major credit and debit cards.

How can I pay?

During office hours we can process your card payment over the phone. You can also pay via a bank transfer. If your loved one held a bank account and you wish to use their funds we can send you an invoice to present to their bank for them to make payment directly to us.

Do you accept Social Fund payments?

A Social Fund payment will probably cover the entire cost of a JustCremations funeral. However, we can only offer our low price based on full payment before the funeral. This means you will need to find an alternative source of funding until the payment comes through. This may be available in the form of a Crisis or Budget Loan from DWP

Do you offer a traditional funeral service?

A traditional service is available via Worcester Funeral Service. Please see www.worcesterfuneralservice.co.uk for details.

What kind of coffin will be used?

We provide a standard light oak veneered coffin suitable for cremation.

Where bariatric (obese) factors are present, causing additional or unusual requirements, we reserve the right to make additional charges where these become necessary. These charges may cover necessary additional personnel, special equipment, a specialist crematorium fee or the additional costs of an oversized coffin (over 6ft 2in x 22in).

Can we come to see our loved one in your chapel of rest?

Sorry, but no. The JustCremations service excludes this.

Do you provide full funeral facilities?

The concept of JustCremations is to offer a direct cremations service at a reasonable cost. As there is no viewing, our chapel of rest would not be utilised and because there is no traditional church or secular service, the costs of a limousine and additional staffing are not necessary. All professional facilities are, however, fully available to us.

Do you use a proper hearse?

Of course. We operate our own fleet.

Will my loved one be carried to the catafalque?

We provide four uniformed pallbearers to carry the coffin in a professional & dignified manner.

Can I arrange a service in church before the cremation?

We do not offer the option of a service beforehand. If a church service is important to your family then you might like to arrange a separate memorial or thanksgiving service, without the coffin present, once the funeral has taken place. A casket containing your loved ones ashes can be almost as poignant a focus at a service or gathering as the coffin itself.

When and where does the cremation take place?

The date, time and place of cremation are entirely at our discretion and are chosen on the grounds of cost and availability. The crematorium utilised will be fully licensed in accordance with all current requirements.

Can I choose the time and day of the service?

No, we take advantage of our low council charges at certain times, compared to other municipalities across the UK. This is how we can keep our charges as advertised.

Will there be any flowers?

We will provide a suitable floral tribute but should you wish to order something personal or bespoke to you, we can arrange this at an extra cost.

What happens to the ashes?

You can choose one of the following options:
• The ashes can be scattered on your behalf.
• The ashes can be placed in a simple container and hand returned directly to you. There is an additional charge for this service.
* The ashes can be collected from our office by yourself or a representative.

When can I have my loved ones ashes?

If you have opted to have the ashes hand delivered to you, we will work with you to return them in a sensible time frame and when you’re ready. If you have chosen to collect them, they could be ready the same day as the cremation but again we will talk to you about this and work with you.

Can I have references?

Yes, we have testimonials scrolling on this website. On request copies of the original source can be sent.
